the elaborate plan (This is going to be a character from Doors.)

My son keeps asking me to buy more pumpkins cause he keeps getting more ideas. I don’t mind; pumpkins are cheap this time of year. Jack o’lanterns are no longer a measure to keep evil spirits away. (We don’t need that; we have Christ!) They are now a whimsical autumn art form. My son is an artist and I can’t restrain him from doing artist things.
Plus, he gets to use knives. Always a big plus! π

Yeah, it’s really nice now that he’s older. I don’t even have to scoop out the pumpkins myself.

What would you do with the seeds?

Some years, we plant or save them. This year, we fed them to our chickens.

I like to take the seeds put some cinnamon on them and roast them in the oven. I just got back from upstate New York. One of my great aunts let me take one of their large pumpkins. Since I don’t do Halloween I’m going to make some chili and stew to put it in.

Yeah, we Americans aren’t very good at eating pumpkin as a vegetable, but I understand it works just as well as squash. We only know how to add a ton of sugar to it haha!
I sometimes roast the seeds, and I do like them, but boy do they turn into tiny daggers that lacerate your gums!

Pumpkin and squash are actually fruit. As a horticulturist I can not ignore that.

The giant pumpkin eating the tiny one is pretty funny! Your son is really creative!

Thanks, I will tell him! That wasn’t his original idea, he looks at photos and gets inspiration.
